Why Hemp is Good for the Economy and Environment

There are so many wonderful reasons to welcome Hemp into your daily life! It is very environmentally friendly, Proponents of hemp claim it can help reduce global warming due to it taking out large amounts of carbon dioxide. It can also grow in a variety of climates and soil types. Another impressive benefit is that it grows very tightly spaced allowing it to outcompete most weeds, and it is naturally resistant to most pests and requires very little effort and resources to grow!

This then means Hemp requires no herbicides, and few or no pesticides! Let’s not stop there with the benefits, hemp can also be manufactured into biodegradable plant-based plastic products. Meaning that Hemp paper could be recycled 7 times, in comparison to wood pulp paper that can only be recycled 3 times.

Here’s a little fun fact for you, there are no tree or plant species on Earth capable of producing as much paper per acre as Hemp!

Who doesn’t love a great pair of jeans? Hemp has got you covered! Hemp produces twice as much fiber per acre as cotton! Which means in one year a typical U.S. county planted with hemp can produce enough fiber to make 100 million pairs of jeans! It gets better! There is a wide variety of clothing that is 100% hemp made now available! Hemp made clothing has three times the tensile strength of cotton. It is very versatile and excellent for outdoor wear because it is weather resistant, UV and mold resistant as well as lightweight and absorbent.

Hemp also has many major health benefits for your heart and body. Hemp seeds are very rich in healthy fats our bodies need to stay healthy such as the ones that really go overlooked like Omega-3 and essential fatty acids. They are also a great protein source with all 9 essential amino acids. One of those acids being DHA which means Hemp is excellent nutrition for your brain!

A lot of people have the fear of “getting high” consuming hemp seeds or hemp seed oil. Studies will show you that you won’t. So rest easy with your fear, there are many studies to back this statement, so feel free to do your research! Hemp seed oil also holds a lot of beneficial aspects.

Starting with it possibly being able to relieve dry skin, improve itchiness and reduce the need for skin medicine! It stimulates hair growth, while moisturizing the scalp and hair, and also strengthens hair to help prevent breakage! It can also help the body balance hormones. It helps reduce acne! It is proven to improve your mood, and support your immune system!

The list of benefits is very impressive, and go on and into further depth than what has been stated here, it is also backed by many, many studies! Do some research, and be ready to receive its many benefits! I don’t know about you, but sounds like a win, win to me!
